I'd come to it believing it would be a difficult text, but it really isn't. There's certainly nothing particularly highbrow about it. The hard work comes from the complete lack of joy. I mean... obviously, considering the subject matter, but... ugh. Maybe it'll be like Lolita, and I'll be completely blown away by the end? Not holding my breath.

The Bone Collector - 4.5/5
I've seen the movie, but there's much I couldn't remember. It was 20-ish years ago.
Totally forgot who the killer was, which is great cos it would've made reading a chore. I thoroughly enjoyed this, though. It whizzed along because there's no fat in the writing.
I'll have a little break before moving on to The Coffin Dancer, but I'm really looking forward to reading something entirely new.
