the end of the chapter where stephen got hit by his teacher for no reason really pissed me off like even tho teachers aren’t allowed to hit students anymore they never stopped the humiliation ritual and emotional punishments like FAWK teachers! (yes ik i sound 12 years old but it’s my truth)

need to rewatch the movie but the vibe im getting from the book is much more angsty.. the movie’s vibes is like yearning /positive cause its a beautiful love story until the end but this is like yearing /negative & much more introspective & elio grappling with his desire and their relationship… it’s much more about the cat and mouse to me cause the book makes it immediately obvious they have feelings for each other

was super busy last week so i didn’t read at all and this was so hard to get back into. not my fav at all but every once in a while it has a truly good bit, like the passage abt sleeping overnight at a movie theater and “so we didn’t go to italy.” i can’t be a full on hater but my opinion is sooo mixed
