Just achieved 50 books for the year!! That was my original goal when the year started. Since we’re basically exactly halfway through……going for 100 💪🏻📖

Ngl…the rest of this series was so intense and horrific and complex….and this one’s kind of a slog. Overdone, and kind of random imo. Disappointing :(

I decided to read this because it’s so influential. Man…idk how people can possibly idolize this narrator or think this is a love story. This is disgusting and disturbing, about “wanting” a 12-year-old. The narrator is vile. How anyone could feel anything for him other than pity or disgust is beyond me. The prose, though? There’s a reason this book is still read. The writing is incredible

I’ve still got 28% of this book left but unless Steinbeck absolutely fumbles the end (which I doubt) then this book is going to go on my favorites list

Oh wow this is so good
