I've never understood why people always go 'Please, don't tell! You'll ruin my life!' Why don't they stand up and say 'if you do tell, I will sue you for slander, defamation of character, loss of income and anything else I can get to stick to you?'

For once it would be nice if the main character in a book wasn't a whiney coward and actually stood up for themselves.
