Great plot, enjoyable and simple read, with some memorable feminist coded moments

This was my first pick for my book club and it was definitely different from anything I've ever read before. The love story between Patroclus and Achilles was tender and moving, set within the backdrop of the lead up to and during the Trojan War.

I have to say I am finding the euphemisms for male genitals most amusing! "meat-between-the-veg"

A slow(ish) start. I had to really find my bearings with this one, but now I'm very much into it!
