They literally say 'you're not like other girls' unironically. So help me... every time I'm about to put the whole thing down it's another Kell chapter and it's at least interesting again.

Man, after the last couple of books being dnf's, I was feeling kinda jaded and like clearly, I'm the problem. This feels so much more up my alley than most of booktok obsessions, so maybe that's just a good sign to ignore the booktok. Or stay firmly on the queer side of it.

I think the only reason I'm still reading this is to have something to yell at.

It feels like this book is trying to 'not like other girls' all the popular ya romance that's massively popular, so it ticks all the boxes of what tropes make stories 'popular' with zero soul and subverts them just a tiny bit to be like 'see I'm different!'

Feels like it was written by AI told to write a rated r ya novel.

This book was published in 2013, and we're still doing the bs that wolf packs are run by alpha males, and only the alpha pair are allowed to have pups. I barely put up with this sort of crap in abo fantasy because... it's a fantasy, but claiming a character looks this up on the scifi equivalent of Wikipedia... just makes me so tired.

I'm putting this down for the moment. It may end up being a dnf, but we'll see.
