This book is great so far and enjoy how the author mixed the present with the past. This is interesting because it means that you have to be really focused and know exactly what is going on and differentiate the past and the present, if not you can get lost very easily.

So far the "Mariposas" or the sisters were just released from prison because in the first place they refused to be let out of to make their point clear: for Trujillo to not be President. The sisters have shown that they could starve to death and they wouldn't care because their freedom costs their lives. I would love to have the courage that they have because they could stand up to high authority and they don't care.

Out of all of the books that I have read I have to say that this is the one that I can relate to the most. I say this because in the book the Mirabal sisters are the rebel in the country and they fight for their rights. I consider myself as a fighter and someone who will never give up once I realize that something is wrong. Love the book!!!!

I was surprised by the hatred of Quinn's female family members towards men. In my opinion not all men are jerks, they should just give them a chance and find the good sides of those men instead of pushing them to the side and classifying all men as liars, and other things.

This book so far is good, and I was surprised my the hatred from Quinn's family for men, which was what really got me interested in the book. I also love how there are like diary entries form other women who were in love when younger. Hopefully they can all see that not all men should be classified as jerks, some have good sides to them and it's our job to find that goodness.

This book was filled with a lot of drama. And I still can't believe that the person Zoey believed in betrayed her, Neferet. Her mentor and High Priestess. Because of some drama Zoey is isolated from her friends and she is seen as a liar all because of Neferet. Zoey has many unsolved issues and isn't backing down from any challenge. Although Neferet is powerful Zoey can overcome some challenges on her own.

This book was filled with so much drama, the relationships that Zoey was involved with were mostly filled with secrets and too many betrayals. For example, the only reason Loren her poetry teacher had sex with because she was tryting to get information for her true lover, Neferet. Her goal is too isolate Zoey because when Zoey's friend and Zoey are together they are powerful. Neferet is a power seeker.

I am on page 180 and the book keeps getting better and better. I still can't believe the bad relationship that both Zoey's mom, and her friends are all having with her. Also she needs to fix her boyfriends issue because she likes her teacher, Loren Blake, her ex boy-friend Heath, and her boyfriend now which is Erik. She is just showing that she is irresponsible when it comes to having relationships that work out.
