This is a slower read than my last couple books, partly because Jacobs had a great vocabulary with words I have to stop and look up. But her degree of analysis, astuteness, and mastery of social interactions are just impossible not to appreciate—especially for a woman in 1961. So many lessons and phenomena she writes about are just as ubiquitous and relevant now. I wish I could have met her.
