Lucy— what the actual f???

Going on dates might seem normal to others but I feel it when Arlo gets a bit stuck in his mind. Dating is something which freaks me out a lot, especially as someone on the ace spec. I don’t know if Arlo is because as far as I am - he doesn’t really go by any labels. So yeah… But I feel it. The fear.

“People spend way too much time getting involved in other people's business when it doesn't concern them in the slightest.” (P. 23)

“HOME WAS NOT QUITE HOME, but it was the closest thing I had to it…”
So far, this story is easy to grasp even when it is late at night (like now for me here as I type my thoughts away). There are parts which give me a sense of familiarity, e. g. the quote above. Also, so far it feels like being back on campus myself. I kinda miss it. It is nice to get this nostalgic feeling of my time back in uni.

I. Love. It.

I’m sorry for taking so long with reading. But so far I love it. Love might be the wrong verb for the intense liking of the book. I kinda wished more people would see this. More people would recognise it. The trilogy should receive so much more love.

I’m taking my time reading Embers because my brain and I still cannot believe that this is going to be last book of a series which has my heart and soul in a way no other series ever has. I’m savouring it like you would your favourite dessert. [I am also busy marking every piece which sparks and ignites my little heart, knowing I can’t dye the entire book 😂]

I mainly read this book in my breaks at work right now. So far, there is this sort of humour in there which I know from my friends very well – sprinkles of irony/sarcasm and this lovely family like banter. The dynamic between Death and Fox really suits well that of a parent and their child.
