Just arrived at Part Four and am coming to the realization that this is in fact probably the finest piece of literature I have maybe ever read 😧

Just arrived at Part Two, and can already tell this is an absolute masterpiece even by Steinbeck standards. In sheer awe at how gorgeous the prose is, and how immaculately constructed the character and story arcs are. Such an enjoyable read 💞

Taking me way too long to finish but it's absolutely wonderful and I like to digest by little pieces over time.

Got through Part 2 (finally)! Gonna be honest, this one was kind of a slog. Lots of minor characters and endless bickering that didn't seem to go anymore, but there were still some nuggets of wisdom that made it worth it I guess. Taking a little break for Renoir's memoir now ... 😸

Finally got through Part One! The Prince is an absolute darling. So far I think I prefer both BK & CP, but it's still quite engaging all the same. The Prince's stance on capital punishment was one of the real philosophical highlights of this Part. It's tough keeping track of the characters sometimes, and it does drag at times, but overall the dialogue/style is so Dostoevsky and I love it :-)
