jeeze. this book is gut wrenching. justin is a hot mess, grace is no better, and willa is basically useless. i think everything in this family could be fixed with a long cry and group hug.

i really empathize with Justin. he was young, getting groomed, and had a family unequipped to help him. ofc he grew up with the issues he has. i also really feel for willa. she didnt ask for any of this either. the whole familys a mess and i blame grace.

I can’t imagine having to go to your hometown with the people that conquered it and secretly dealing with the enemy. That’s crazy. Poor vis

I’m proud of Vis for advancing through the school as efficiently as he has. It’s a great show of perseverance, being the underdog, and character.

So schools not going great… he’s not advancing fast enough. Also the fucking SPY IS HIS MOTHER?! Bye. That was a twist I definitely didn’t see coming. Kudos to the author for that one

Okay I like Lanistia. She’s a badass and I trust her completely. Also this whole dark academia vibe is really working for this book. Love the vibes. Stark imagery and great characters.

i truly never know where this book is going... and i love it. its a little tedious- the world building, but its slowly paying off. i like the protagonist. so far so good.

okay waiiit. i like this so far. the first chapter was confusing at first, as i guess most books of this genre are, but by the middle of the second chapter i was hooked. i like the way its writren, the characters, and i never know where its gonna go. im excited

okay okay FINE im finally reading fourth wing. its been on my tbr forever and i finally have the time and attention span to read it. is harsh so far, with deaths i wasnt expecting. the love interest is already clear as day. family seems interesting. im finally excited to get through it

Okay so they killed bunny and I’m so sorry but even though that was clearly a stupid decision, I don’t feel that bad. Maybe it’s the gaslighting, but he kinda had it coming. Everything happening after is super weird though. I’ve never liked Henry, he’s a weirdo.

Oh boy bunny is annoying. We all know a bunny. This honestly makes me feel better about him being killed ngl 😬.

I really wish I read this during the winter in a little cottage somewhere with snow falling around me, but alas I’m in Florida in the hot sun and the vibes feel slightly off. Still enjoying it! But it’s definitely more of a cold fall/winter book.
