This is literally the perfect book for a millennial woman who is chronically online, enjoys true crime, AND manhwa romance but it’s shockingly not cringey. Like these qualities would make the cringiest fiction worthy of My Immortal fanfic but somehow it’s funny, gritty, grim, political, with romance that doesn’t remotely overwhelm the plot.

Realizing Poppy has zero appreciation for Fall and is a Spring/Summer girl made everything click.

I cannot fundamentally click with someone who ain’t a cozy girl (I’m being sarcastic)

I didn’t realize just how much her inner thoughts rambled on.

Sometimes the language feels inconsistent. At times, I feel the author is trying to use language more consistent with more classic fantasy styled novels and at other times it’s like walking through the mind of a middle schooler.

Curious to see how much I will (probably not) enjoy this book six years later
