So far, the book has spent a great deal of time telling us what not to do. Parents (and teachers) often get it wrong with communicating to children because they focus on behavior and worldly things rather than the heart and eternal things. Tripp has so far explained from a biblical perspective that all behavior stems from the heart. We must deal with the hearts of children rather than just behaviors.
