I think I'm getting a better handle on what's going on here. I don't think this compares to Memories of Ice or House of Chains, both brilliant entries, but Erikson still has that spark. I think once the Crippled God appears I can actually become invested in these new characters.

I don't know if this first chapter and prologue gets all of our players, especially as this one introduces an entirely new cast and a different plot, but there is intrigue here.

Yeah this ones just a boring one. Like As you know is used seriously and a chapter ends with a line that something might be wrong on this planet. Which is just shocking for Doctor Who of all things.

This is leaps and bounds better than Nick Wallace's Dominion. Compassion really shines in this one as she's still not quite sure what being a TARDIS means and the descriptions of people going in and out of her are so weird.
