I haven't read this series since around 2005. Long enough that I know the broad strokes and amn't rushing through it like I so often do with new novels. This is 1/8 in the series, and I'm really enjoying myself so far.

Damn, these novellas are so good!

I hate the book's past, which is the real past, but I like the book's future, but the book's future is my today, and I hate my today, too. #thefeels

I was going to say, 'maybe on my third read-through, I'll go slower and skim less'. Instead, I think it's the power of the writing, writing about unpleasant people, actions, ideals, and societies, that compels me to skim. Either way, it's a great novel, and I'm enjoying this, my second read of it.

Good setup, and I enjoyed the kick-off to the adventure. Shit's about to go down in 1942, but I gotta get to sleep.

Oh how delightfully systematic, Rabin is literally going through Yankovic's entire song-catalog one at a time and talking about each! I LOVE IT!

Extremely good. Only tiredness forces me to put it down!

Okay, that's the first Naomi Wildman story that made her adorable and childlike instead of precocious like on TV. Loved it, and ESPECIALLY the art style!

Oh. I'm in a sad & sentimental mood tonight, but I sure do miss Yeoman Thompson after only ten pages ("Legacy"). Poignant, thoughtful, and just really well-done! I wonder who the cadet on page ten is supposed to be, if anyone we've met before, that is.

Oh man! That one captured the cheese of the original series just right! #chefskiss Kudos to Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore.

Two short stories in, and I'm loving both the variety of art and creativity of narrative!

The weight of the material makes me feel that I've read more than I have. The format is excellent (like World War Z), but the gravity of the realism tempers my enjoyment. Still a great book.

Good reading, but not light reading. This is enough for tonight.

Ha! I'm loving it! This feels like some of my favorite j-fic from my childhood.

Prologue finished, and this is definitely not what I expected.
