Yes, the author's writing style is good, so it's obvious why Tess of D'Urbervilles is a beloved classic. But crikey! The story just seems to mosey on lazily as if there's no readily discernible point. I'm in the 4th of 7 parts, and though still dutifully slogging away like a good boy, I honestly think that if the book was half as long, it'd still be an arduous task to finish reading!
