I can only pick this book up when there’s quiet and clarity and space. And never without a pen and paper nearby, for the reflections and observations is sparks for me, often several times in one page.
I have always liked de Boton’s writing, but I haven’t before been ready for it, or perhaps needed it, in the way I do now.
I’ll ever be grateful to the friend who gifted me this.
