Last two chapters, and I've been spent by the evil in this novel

Just read the censored chapter in its intended place in the book (Part 2, Chapter 9) and Dostoyevsky was at its most profound here. This is shaping up to be the best book I've read from him

I just met the rudest tongue in all of literature: Pyotr Verkovhensky

Reading Dostoyevsky, particularly this book, wrangles the mind. There's just something in his characters' observations that intrigues the hell out of me. Finishing Part 1 of this three-part novel made me feel like I'm a different person, and I'm not even halfway yet.

It feels too soon, but this is becoming my favorite work of his. Intense scandals. So much evil. So many demons.

This is the most difficult Dostoyevsky book I am reading thus far. But it's one big gossip and I an loving it
