Oof. This really isn't what I want to read now or maybe ever. I have to admit, I took a class in college called Images of the South. Never have I read so many cludgy books, even the ones that were well written. I confirmed for me that I'm not a big fan of classic American literature. This book just puts me back there. As I said, oof. I may have to return this to the library now.

I'm not sure I can make it to the end. I just don't care about any of the characters or the story. Fortunately this was a free download from Audible's new Plus Catalog, so I'm not out any money. I guess there's a reason why it's in that catalog.
