I was amazed by this book.
There's a chaste romance (on one side, for the other side it's a series of correspondences) between the Prime Minister and a very young lady.
The backdrop is the lead up to World War I and its devastating execution. A few people thought the war would be resolved in a matter of weeks, but most knew it would drag on for years in a brutal carnage.
It's based on a true story.
