Strong start, got a little lost as I wasn't expecting a small time skip (like a few months maybe) but it has been a good year before I finished book 3.

Overall a good read, the premise was good and the mutant fungal humans were a unique touch. We got to see some action from both Astartes and regular humans. I don't like the way first borns we're just worse at everything though, it is the common theme now as Primaris are so much better, but first born are made to appear so weak I wonder how they survived 10K years being as week as they are portrayed.

It's a good story with some twists at the end. The plot also leaves unanswered questions that raises more intrigue into just what Moreau was doing.

The older style of writing is hard to get into at first but it's a nice change of pace once you can get into it.

The story so far seems nothing out the ordinary but a few unusual characters have popped up

I can't belive it is finally over, a few of my theories unfolded. Arcadius had Gwen killed, Nimbus was actually the God, and Royce was actually the heir all along.

There's a few loose ends I wanted tying up like how Arcadius knew Royce was the true heir but overall very well concluded and everyone had a happy ending minus a few of our dead friends. The end was emotional and I hope it's left open on purpose

I f'ing knew it Royce you little bastard! I called it. I didn't think it was actually going to be true but my god it was magically done!

This may actually have been thr most emotional book I have read to date. The miss-direction of Mercy being Gaunts daughter, and being the true heir. Gwen giving the future sights of what's to come. My god it was brilliantly done.

All the little callbacks are so good. Michael is a very good writer finding little ways to sliver information from little tiny offhand comments into the flow of the story. I love how Hadrian confessed, if a bit cringy. Also given what we have learnt regarding the true heir of Novron, I wonder if Royce is actually the true heir. I had a suspicion before he was but Gaunt and the Girl don't seem to fit now.

Okay so Arista is getting used to her magic finally, and the romance between her and Hadrian is very slow and being done very well.

I feel sad that we nearly lost her when they fought the Goblin and she tried to help Alric.

We finally met Theric again and so f'ing glad Royce killed him. I got a bit teary when they had a final bromance and Royce went to die... I am glad he didn't end like I thought.

The current spot in the story is good. I generally hate Degan. I 100% hope he dies. I know we have the little girl who is the heir that Arcadius was keeping. And we know now who she is. I just hate Degan.

Hadrian and Royce continue to bromance it out with Arista coming to steal Hadrian. I have a feeling someone I like will die and I hope it's done well...and that it isn't Myron.

So a past guess of mine was actually correct, the place Arista found her powers was Percepliquis. This part leading up to the conclusion is done very well. I did thing Miranda was an assassin or something though. Also if the girl is the actual heir of Novron. A) how is she so young if she was one of the twins and B) who is Degan Gaunt.

Also is the half elf dude who were Horn hunting going to return?
