I love the title and the old school feel to the cover art. It reminds me of Victoria Holt novels of the 1970s.

Up to Part II - Castle Magnus. I am really enjoying the writing style, which seems to blend the old fashioned feel of a late 19th century novel while at the same time being using more modern structures in the dialogue.

I'm about halfway done with this anthology . . . there are great stories and good ones. Just a few I've skipped, including one unfortunate early piece that I had a hard time with the narrator's dialect. Favorite piece so far is the Butler piece.

I'm placing this on hold for now.

I am initially intimidated by the larger than normal page count. However, I am confident in Hurley's ability to weave a damn good story (see "The Light Brigade") that can transport me right into the world she creates.
