This is what I'm talking about. It's like the only thing the author can use as an angst device is sexual torture. Which is confusing when this book is so arousing during the consensual scenes and then we get ice water thrown on us when there's another dub-con/non-con scene.

So there's one thing that really bugs me about this series, and that's that the author appears to use rape as a torture devise CONSTANTLY...we're constantly given reminders of Black's sexual abuse and the only way to actually hurt him is through rape. It's....triggering and overdone. And dramatic. Someone raped this many times would have dropped into psychosis by now.
