A bit boring so far ...

Oh dear. The story is interesting and I like the author’s pen, but the non-linear structure ruins the fun. It’s driving me crazy. Why not a neat, simple, linear narrative, old school and nice? I don’t understand 😔

Un'autrice sorprendente, che questa volta racconta la tragedia dei gulag con una penna dura e tagliente, ma anche con dolcezza, empatia e sottile umorismo. Alcuni personaggi, come il dottor Karlovic, rimarranno con me a lungo.

Mrs Strout is pure genius, she's one of my favorite writers and this book keeps up to my expectations.
Her characters always resonate extremely well with me. Thus I'm reading slower than usual, like I always do with her books, because I want to make this story last enough for my prolonged pleasure.

Lehane is one of those authors whose books deserve a 5 stars no matter what. This #2 is a blast.
