"God the Spirit works in us what God the Son obtained for us. The Father planned it, Jesus bought it, the Spirit applies it - all of that infallibly."

I am so thankful my God is El Roi - "the God Who sees me" and doesn't view me with the critical lens I often view myself when life is difficult (Ephesians 1 & 2).

"Faithfulness to Christ -the kind that perseveres to the end- comes in persevering to the end of today. Perseverance is a determination to follow Jesus more closely than I did yesterday."

It matters where we place our hope because God is neither absent nor distant from us. He is not a backup plan or a cheering birth coach. God defines reality. He is the Sovereign God in Whose hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind. Is PSALM 18:1-2 true for me?

"A mom in labor is a picture of eschatological hope. When we undergo light and momentary affliction in our mothering, then we see it for what it is: a reminder to look to the unseen. Birth is not about us, but about God. We take care of the transient but we don't throw our hearts into it. Let's be obsessed with what we're going to be obsessed with thirty zillion years from now: the glory of Jesus." (2 Cor. 4:16-18)
