The first two chapters are just mind blowing and tragic. The third chapter, The Deep Story, is what I was looking for when I opened this book. What many of us were looking for to explain the 2016 election results.

This book is a deep dive on the state of the medical field in 1918 in Europe and in the USA, the reality of prerequisites to enter American medical schools and the qualifications to become a medical doctor, the politics of funding of medical research and more. Somehow not quite what I was looking for, but interesting nonetheless.
