We are in Manitoba's chapter! I will revisit the part I peeked at, that made me laugh most. There is far more to even our founding culture than Louis Riel and Hudsons Bay company but I see they did not overlook the Neepawa cemetery, as the most beautiful and grand in our province. Margaret Laurence's resting place should be no-brainer directions to give anyone but if you visit, seek her maiden family name, Wemyss.

Nancy Millar, by whom I know I will read anything and hope she has other books, achieves intricate, clear history with humour. Anyone with half an interest would love her book. I keep laughing delightedly at her way with plain-speaking and witty words and I am not at Manitoba's part yet.

Observing this subject matter, you wouldn't imagine how funny Nancy Millar's presentation of her regional tour is. I would love her as a tour guide in person. Here I was, leaving my bookmark and peeking at the Manitoba chapter to ensure it is no shorter than any other province's. That is important to Manitobans! I caught a humorous phrase that had me laughing uncontrollably. I laughed at 2:30AM over such a book!

This is fantastic right away: another gem discovery from local thrift stores! It is personably, humorously, wryly-written (given the looks Nancy Millar got for touring cemeteries). It is compassionately-written, too. Feeling for some poignant occurrences she learned about, which got her niece interested in personal Canadian and family histories too; sparked this tour and idea for a book about less-known history.

My return to my dear Wylly Folk St. John is as different and unexpected as all of her books are. She had an incomparible imagination for never having books and subjects and locations that seem alike. They are all southern and her polite language comes through in real life youths she is emulating. But you are always engaged and enthralled in a whole new place. This one is serious: what to do about noticing abuse.

I could do without the perspectives of every set of characters, right down to a small town policeman with a pregnant wife, who wants a promotion. Everyone has heard about "the Windemere necklace" and Dorothy Eden clearly wanted every characters to converge on this subject, with the import to each of them established. But all I care about is the good stuff: the secret passageways and the manor's lady spirit legend!

I am finding my footing with this story that gives a narration to all of the players. It is not to my taste because highlighting one or a group of heroes builds support and roots readers more quickly, as well as deposits us into the action and interest of the story more quickly and engagingly. However I see my impression coming together, that the great Dorothy Eden had a reason. We will empathize with all parties.

Canada Post expects to be slow but the strike is over. With my birthday enjoyed, I look to Christmas. I have participated in the lovely tradition of Christmas cards all my life! I clean up my list occasionally, to accommodate folks from whom I mutually have the thrill of receiving them! If friends I have made would enjoy sharing the tradition with us, let's exchange addresses by e-mail! RonCar(at)Prairie(dot)ca.

It is taking me a bit to get into this because it had been my favourite television night. Literature-wise, this mystery is setting up a different character with their own narrated perspective every few pages, even that of the seeming culprit. You don't root for a protagonist because you don't have a feel for who it is and I dislike that style. However I can imagine the familiarization will gel well for this story.

This single gothic mystery published in my birth year has been so well-written and engrossing from page one! It is a pity not to see millions of people reading it right now like the authors that keep turning up on reader profiles. I am sure my grade will be five stars. I have read so many standalone gothic mysteries all my life, I am surprised by how often I continue to find original stories and heroines but I do.

Hello, long-standing and new friends! Thank you for making my birthday special with your well-wishes! It is all about love, friendship, and greetings, isn't it? The States have their Thanksgiving now and we wish all of your families a lovely visit, reflection, playtime, and rest.

I have completely revamped my personal profile write-up! Thus it is worthwhile letting you know. I hope you have a look and enjoy it.

It is a delight to return to my gothic mystery roots. I am enjoying the writing and pace, right from the first page! Whatever "fluff" impression I suspect people have of this earlier genre peripherally, no doubt because many add an element of romance; they are far more suspenseful and exciting than "cozy mysteries"! It is "standard adult mystery" with atmosphere, palpable thrills, top notch dialogue, and writing.

It has been happily busy at my birthday! Company, more food than usual, tasty drinks. Extra sweet cheer from Ron and our cats. Having Conan back home soon of course, is my sole birthday wish. There will be new cards and greetings from friends clueing in and catching up, which I love. It extends my annual special occasion, with heart that I embrace and love very much. I will be awake enough to read more now. :)

Many of you haven't known me long enough to know I used to switch profile photos: to reflect my birthday (November 18!) and as a fun change. When Love died unexpectedly and young on July 31, 2014; I kept up the last photo of us posed together. However, our concern is his missing brother, Conan: whom we feel is alive. My loyalty to Love remains constant today, even when returning to things I enjoy.

Eek, not funny in the least and many jokes, I openly admit not understanding. Oh well! This is what you call an easy, breezy read. It would not have cost more than .25c.
