I think I will probably always be reading this book, going back and forth, constantly re-reading.

Short stories are about all I can steal time for with all that's going on. Trying to read works that are going to improve my own writing. This isn't one of them. Need to find where I've put my copy of "The Night We Buried Road Dog" and re-read those.

Now, on to "Inagehi," and I have "The Hauntings of Hood Canal" and "The American Writer: Shaping a Nation's Mind" on the way!

Ever been caught up in a book so beautiful that even though you want to devour it to the very last page, you slow yourself down, savoring the moments, drawing it out?

And waking up in the middle of the night to read a little more?

This is my second go at the book. It's easier to not go look for something else to read this time, but at the halfway point I'm still not engaged in any of the characters and don't care much how it all comes out. If I wasn't determined to finish I likely wouldn't even go to the last of the book to get the ending. I think it's all the disjointed jumping back and forth between scenes and characters that's irritating me

I am so not a non-fiction reader . . . Doing this one in bits and pieces.

*sigh* This may be a book that goes best with wine. Maybe saki.

Going a little better than the last couple of times I worked on it. Making this and "I Am A Cat" my drying off between swims reads since they aren't can't-put-it-down books for me.

Having to work to get through this one. Probably why I have two other books I've tried (unsuccessfully) to read through going at the same time!
