I think I might have to DNF. The chapter “Close” was mostly memoir again, but also seems like the author’s inability to realize they are polyamorous and trying to use literature and movies to explain “it’s just a friendship” vs just being out and true to herself. The memoir tidbits are just throwing me off because that’s not what I signed up for.

I enjoyed the writing exercises and tidbit about the Ideal Reader.

This book has me stressing. Might wait until after the holidays to read because it is not a feel-good romcom like I was expecting 😅😂

“Nerve” was a bit difficult of a section to get through. I think it’s because I’m not as familiar with the two main books discussed and it was mostly memoir.

My only issue so far has been not acknowledging how editors can help the writing process as well. There’s still more to read, but something tells me King won’t likely touch on it (but we’ll see!).
