so... so the... so the dream-eating brain bug hatched and freed the other dream-eating brain bugs from the government and now they are eating brains of civilians so the government is enlisting the help of the Spider to Get Rid of Them but issac doesn't know and he's just looking for a woman and, instead of helping, his friend david goes to a pedarast brothel where children have dog legs or are crabs. It's So Over.

these past few chapters have been fun little slice of life romps with a tinge of 'this will probably be bad for us later' energy. also, crisis theory is just 'what if thermodynamics didn't exist.' book is definitely taking its time. hoping things pick up a little more soon.

i think i keep forgetting to put a little blurb here. anyway, the development of 'dreamshit' as a major plot point is rather exciting. i wonder if other characters will indulge in the dreamshit. can't wait to see how dreamshit is used throughout the book. the author is a genius on many levels, but the coining of dreamshit will forever be his greatest achievement

finally feel like the book is hitting its stride. mieville is pretty good at giving the inanimate character. his animate characters are pretty good, too
