I am realizing that his family is very important to him be cause the are the influences that got him into fishing and swimming. Most importantly his brother that he mainly talks about in the book. His brother has been a huge part in his life considering the fact that he showed him all activities that young boys do in the 1900's.

The sandbar in rascals life seems like its a big deal to him because like how he examines things and that keeps coming up the sandbar keeps coming up. (sandbar is related to his fishing prep) I wonder if it will come up and keep coming in the book consistently? I believe that he has really adapted to his surrounding and really got used to them.

I have seen and noticed that Rascal is starting to get comfortable with the things that his dad and brothers do for fun and traditions. I have seen this behavior from Rascal on (p.41) he is showing that he up for fishing slowly getting comfortable in the water and trying to caught the fish with the net. "I was taking no last-minute chance of losing this big shining cat(meaning cat fish). I used to think that Rascal

I noticed in the book when something new comes up to Rascal he tends to examine it, before he attempts to do it or to try it. For example everytime he goes into the pool (mostly his first time) he examined it and got out right away. And then he examines the fishing pond before fishing. But then he ends up watching his older brother, and help him real the fish in.

In the beginning throughout 15-31 a new babie a companion named Rascal has entered into the world. The Wowser and Rascals older brother were immediately protective of the newborn. Then the book fast forwards to when rascal is a little older and starts experiencing the life of a boy in the 1920's. He isn't to big enough to start fishing for bass in the river banks but he is starting to warm up to swimming.
