I don’t think I knew going into this that it would be essentially a collection of connected short stories. If I had, I think I would not have gotten so excited by the premise and probably would have realized that it might have similar vibes to Before the Coffee Gets Cold. IMO they’re comparable and I feel similarly meh about both. I’m not a novella girlie.

Books translated from Japanese always feel like a hug. Something about the straightforward writing is so relaxing.

by the end of each of the short stories, I find myself enjoying this book. And then we get a new POV and the new character meets the librarian and has some absolutely absurd reaction to simply seeing a plus-sized woman. This character actually *screamed* in... fear? surprise? the obsession with this character's size is weird and gross.

I’m still searching. Searching for somewhere i can be accepted as i am. Just one place is all i need. Somewhere to be at peace. 🌧️

I learn many things to her perspectives as a mother make me read it in my mom’s position. I cried so hard and did learn a lesson at the end too 🥹

this was at the top of my tbr but the narrator of the first short story was painful and now it has just compared a larger woman to the stay puffed marshmallow man. i am about to rage quit

I’m already done with chapter two story of ryo who wishes to open his antiques store “one day” 🥹 i feel so connected to his story because i myself loves antiques too, a passion for old things! I also wanna visit Cats Now Books 🥹💌 i feel like its very cozy there! books, cats and coffee what else could i ask for?

So good! Will likely recommend it to all my goodreads friends
