first chapter genuinely read me to filth and that was frankly so unnecessary

Natsumi was so real for being all "I should be able to have the best of both worlds and damn society for telling me otherwise!"

Good collection of thought-provoking short stories. Will finish once I buy the e-book.

This seems like the most heart warming, adorable book. Also, look at the cover... that's all I need to say

Not the kind of book I would typically check out but I love it! It's simple but sweet and insightful. Potential 5 star for me if later the chapters feel as wholesome as the first.

Vignette 4/5. Even though this character was a little frustrating at times, I think he has one of the more compelling arcs. You can see how he has been made to feel inadequate, and you can see how earnestly he wants to feel the passion he once had. I really enjoyed the verbiage surrounding this progression, and the accompanying message of his selected book.

Vignette 3/5. Although I found the message of this section to be very insightful, I wasn’t as touched by the characters. The narrator was tired and frustrated in a way that was very real, but not especially appealing. Still, I liked a lot of the commentary and a few passages really stuck out.

I’m through 2/5 vignettes. I like the slight connection between the 2 stories. This one felt more impactful to me. The notion of the community classes and the ambition of young people is sort of inspiring. A very cozy read, but not just mundane.

I just finished the first vignette of the book. I’m really enjoying the style, it feels a lot like Before the Coffee Gets Cold, in a good way. Not especially moving, but extremely pleasant in an easy slice of life sort of way. I imagine that as the stories accumulate, the larger message will be evident and feel more insightful.
