wait I need to pause this my brain is not willing to compute anything that’s not a silly little romance or silly little romance adjacent

Pierwszy rozdział mnie totalnie wzruszył i utożsamiłam się mocno z Tomoką

This novel is also an ode to books, the power of books as talisman, as agent for change, as compass when we feel lost.

Subtle yet profound, with a humane outlook.

Recommend for people in their early 20s
I love every story and the value of unexpected events in life. I felt reluctant to continue the book after the first couple of pages because just like the character, I’m in my early 20s and struggle to love myself, to reach a certain career goal in life, but this book teaches me to remain hopeful and be patient for the opportunity to come

I enjoyed the third short story though I did not resonate with it much. I was reading it while waiting for an appointment so I think I wasn't fully able to immerse myself in it. There are lots of themes of change and growth and inner self that are resonating with me in this novel.

the second story in this anthology made me weepy in a beautiful way. it's funny that stories that are meant to find you always find you. I've been making so many excuses about what I'm supposed to do and here comes a story about a man doing the same but also gently, with love and delicate care, being told he can start now. Perhaps I too can start now and pull on the threads around me.

this one feels so cozy as well! I guess I'm in my Japanese cozy book era? the first short story is very much about how we perceive so differently from one another. it's also about quiet joy and feeling seen.

No matter how stressed out i felt, all i to do was open that door to step into another world. It was a place where I could be myself; where i was accepted for who i was.
