interesting start, think I will like this book

...wow, I am really disliking this, much to my surprise, and I can't tell why! Too tell-y? Too slow? The tone?

This book has been pretty good, but just entered Weirdville.

Very interesting. I couldn't really stop reading as I got further and further into it.

Finished part one. Interesting premise and fluid style. Dialogue missing quotation marks in arc. Weird.

So sad, compelling, and puzzling.

Interesting concept but I'm not sure where the story is headed. It all seems a bit aimless.

I'm very confused by this book and am really not quite sure what is happening... Very strange writing style.

This book is very intriguing so far but one thing about Bender's style is really bothering me...she doesnt use quotation marks when her characters are speaking. And although I am sure this is to further the perspective of the main character's viewpoint, I am finding it distracting and feel like it makes the conversations difficult to follow...

Should finish this today. Mixed feelings about the book, but I'll wait and see how it ends.

Chapter 8... moves along very fast.. wonderful story!!!

I love the storyline but the lack of quotation marks around speaking parts is driving me a bit crazy.

This is the strangest book I've ever read, seriously. I go from being in awe by the words and disoriented by some of the characters' behaviors. Peculiar indeed.

The numbering is a bit off since it's an eBook but I'm currently on chapter 13

woah.... i'm not even sure whats going on right now.

I'm pretty sure nine year olds don't wax so eloquent about flowers and all the other things gone on about so far in this book. And no quotation marks? It's killing me!!

I'm getting a little bored with this book and it's taking me longer than usual to finish it - Worst of all, everytime I pick it up I have to look at that TRAVESTY of a cover illustration. A beautiful, moist lemon cake iced with CHOCOLATE? No, no, no, no, no! Lemon cake must be topped with lemon icing! It's a Federal law, dammit!

Beautifully written, but odd. Very odd.

Just took a weird turn. Must finish!

Started out a bit fractured, which I guess makes sense coming from the 9-year Rose's perspective. Much better near the middle...I keep wanting to turn the page.

What a cool idea!
