Enjoying this book enormously. Bella Bathurst writes with flair and wit.

I have just finished reading the introduction. If the actual book is half as good as the intro I am in for a real treat. The author sets the scene beautifully and prepares the reader by setting out her rationale for the sequencing of chapters. She also makes a very adept link to her book on the Stevensons.
