A lot heavier than I expected, but good

The first half was meh, but once Simon opened up about what happened, it got so much better. As a parent, this was an emotional book to read.

How can a book make you laugh out loud and ugly cry at the same time? This book is so incredible.

as someone who went to Catholic school from K-12 (and with the Pope being chosen today) i couldn’t think of a better time to start this novel HAHA. i went in blind, so this was such a surprise

This book is funny, sweet, and heartbreaking so far. I love the characters!

nvm i’m slow. i js read the description and it’s bc he’s the only kid in his class to survive a school shooting… i don’t recall that being mentioned or maybe it hasn’t been mentioned yet idrk

tbh kinda lost rn, maybe bc i tried listening to the audiobook and dozed off at parts but it’s giving dystopian vibes for some reason like why is simon so avoidant about certain stuff, what really happened to him. or maybe i’m just making that up

Late to the party as rehearsals delayed my reading this or making the discussion group on it, but I definitely still wanted to read it and Des wanted to join me so we should have our own great talks about it!

Audiobook

I am really enjoying this book. The concept is relatable and interesting and Simon is dealing with trauma but in a way that feels realistic to a tweenager

the friend being filipino has been the only interesting thing so far

I saw this book in the Scholastic book order flyer and was intrigued… so far it’s pretty good!

A great depiction of PTSD and how it can affect you no matter the environment

Agate being cool about her brain stuff makes me feel a little safer about my brain stuff. Not safe enough to get into it or anything-but safer.

It’s pretty good. I’m reading it for Battle of the Books (competition book club) at school.

This book is so sweet but there's this one kinda chapter "a note on lock downs.
I said we couldn't get out, back then
The worse truth is we didn't try. We did what they told
Us to do we did what we practiced we waited, we hid we sheltered in place." So that totally didn't almost make me cry, it's so odd that this shit happens in real life it feels surreal. Anyway this book is really good
