I'm enjoying learning more of the historical context around Jesus's birth. It is also somewhat imaginative, i.e. diving into how each person would have been feeling, which I think makes the whole thing more real and human to me. There's some things I have to check, especially re Israel/Palestine conflict (which I know nothing about), but the book wrestles with complexity in a hopeful and sensitive way.
