This book may only be 271 pages on ebook but it’s taken FOREVER for us to get anywhere in the damn story.

Good stuff

Returned it to the library 🙄 Wanted to like this! But the writing had a YA vibe I couldn't shake. Started Walking the Clouds which has an excerpt from Midnight Robber, so looking forward to that.

Theme- Will to Survive. I believe this because the setting isn't a civilized society anymore, it's everyone for themselves through the different talents

For a few pages, this turned into a convincing horror novel.

Choosing the value of one human life versus another human life should NEVER be allowed. No matter how little you value someone, the people who depend on them won’t agree with you, and vice versa. It’s unethical and cruel.

Yikes! This world is fascinating, the writing is too-tier, and the world building is A1! Everything feels real, despite the mysticism and magic at work!

The world is cruel. The world is wicked. It is I alone whom you can trust in this whole city. I am your only friend.
