Status Updates From People Like Her

I literally hate every single person in this book so far. They deserve what’s coming to them. Except Coco. She is a badass.

To be honest I find this mind numbingly boring, so much time is spent on the two parents POV and I hate them.... I wish there was more of the antagonists POV and would even love to have snippets of Coco's POV at times. Maybe it wouldn't be so annoying if the main charactors were not so whiny and self obsessed. I don't care about these people and wish we didn't spend so much time on their White first world problems.

So I spoke too soon about warming up to the protagonist, kinda saw that coming but was hoping it was misdirection

I have warmed up to the protagonists a bit even if they are insufferable

Worst context I have ever seen "dishwasher safe" in

No matter how grating someone is, Id have to tip my hat at loose-rhyming "vomit" with "epaulette"

Ok, author wanted to write a very hateable protagonist and boy oh boy has she done it well

This one might be a challenge to get through because I can't think of something I'm less interested in to build a story around than a mommy blog called "barefoot"

Nothing wrong with mom blogs as a concept but with that name I see a lot of asinine content in the pages ahead

Oh Hell Naw. She didn't....but she did.

I. Hate. Her. How shallow and inconsiderate.

I hate this woman so much. My god, she's so self-absorbed.

It's a little boring so far but this is just the beginning so hopefully it picks up as the story continues.

That family is so lucky to have Irene by their side! She's so in control, especially when Dan, justifiably, can't be trusted to be.

But then again, Winter? That's kind of underwhelming.

Ugh, Dan is such a sweetheart! He scolds Pamela for buying Coco's pictures online and putting them up on socials for money, allegedly for Rosie's treatments, so nicely!

NO! Fantastic!

Oh, death by co sleeping is horrible.

Very contemporary.

By this point in the book, I want a #yaydays mug of my own.

I really enjoy the three main perspectives.

Normally I don't write reviews before completion but I really wanted to say it while it was on my mind- so far this book is fantastic. As it stands I think it should be "required reading" (I say somewhat in jest) for anyone thinking about sharing their life online. It's a novel, told from the first person rather than an article or blogpost explaining the same moral. I started reading an hour ago & cant put it down.

I like how urban and realistic this is so far.

This is proving to be a quick read but also...when is something actually going to happen?

Dan and Emmy both feel like unreliable narrators at the moment. Curious to see where this goes!

I was very excited about this book but it is so difficult to get through

I’m almost 1/2 way through this book and I am bored stiff. Nothing is happening.

I'm really not enjoying this.

Definitely some trigger warnings here. Frankly, I'm a little bored. This reads more like a researched account of social media influencers and the (lacking) parallels between their digital and real lives. I'm waiting for some kind of actual plot to happen.

So far an interesting take on influencers and the plethora of information that they scare. Definitely terrifying that someone can find where you live by a reflection in a picture.

All the characters are awful people. Except perhaps Polly.
