I think I'm going to end up giving up on this book. I just can't get into it at all. Finding it too dull. The stories that back up the two main points aren't really interesting either.

What's a "learn-a-holic" girl to do when she gets stuck in bed? Why catch up on some reading. Always looking at the bright side.

This one was from my boss who is an entrepreneur programmer. I decided to see if there was anything that could apply to my own business. So far, it's lots of buzz words and very little concrete suggestions. Quite esoteric. Hopefully, it will get better...

Considering Facebook's recent awful opening on Wall Street, it's amusing how the authors repeatedly use them as an example of Doing Things Right.

So far, I see both good and bad about this book. A lot of what the author says, to me, meets with my reaction of, "Duh. Why would anyone do it any other way?" The book has its wordy moments so far, but it has been a decent read.

Basically, apply basic test & learn direct marketing principles when you're launching a new product. Duh. I can see how this would be news to a software engineer but for me this seems mostly coded into my DNA.

Great insights so far on project steering. I will probably go back an re-read Part Two...it's packed with great advice on how to manage new projects and establish metrics for learning and innovation.

Worth a another read.

Enjoyed this immensely. The type of lean production processes that Ries details describes such an ideal team workflow based on the mantra of Build-Measure-Learn. Measure progress of a team not on deliverables and vanity metrics like new users and software usage but on how much the team is learning by executing the Build-Measure-Learn feedback loop and validating your hypotheses.

Need to get my copy back so I can finish it.

My second book in a row about work -- and both have been great. Something in the universe has definitely shifted.

I like the general concepts presented but it borders on being too academic to hold my interest.
