It was a time I couldn’t handle this and did not finish it but did enjoy some bits of what I’ve read

I'm really loving the story but loathing his daughters?? Except the youngest.
Deffo think-
Rohini is Mary
Deepali is Lydia
Vritti is Charlotte (with a dash of Lizzie and Jane)- probably the least caricature of the sisters. Least pretentious.
Honestly, the poor man. He's a total cutie tho.

I am on the couch sobbing and I’m only 34 pages in. This better be a happy crying ending otherwise I’m going to be a broken mess.

A volte i libri ci portano via per un po' e ci restituiscono al nostro posto con una nuova prospettiva.

At first it started off quite sorrowfully, and then I couldn’t take my eyes off it or go on with my life without grabbing the book first and reading a page after another

Despite having worked in public libraries albeit in the business and science area so not fiction I found this novel hard to get into. I’m already forcing myself to read which isn’t a good sign. Characters flat and unnecessary detail. Aleisha and with her inability to recommend books one wonders why she works in a library. Could be a dNF. Already bored. I’ve read all the books on the list.

What the hell 😭
It’s too late to continue reading any farther tonight and now I have to go to sleep after sobbing. I wasn’t prepared for anything like this to happen in these pages, and I am distraught.

SO CUTE! Loving the unlikely connections formed by "The Reading List". It's exactly capturing the magic of those small literary connections-- the links between fictional characters and real life people.

A book for the lover of books and libraries.
I found the story heartwarming but there is a trigger (there is one sad part), that I believe could have been different.
