The next day, he simply followed her on foot. He could have caught up to her so much faster using his car. Plus, her ski tracks should have made it super obvious where she was. Plus, with her being pregnant and sticking to the road, with many, many miles left to go, it just seems impossible at this point for her to slip out of his grasp unless he does something supremely stupid.

I want to like it, but some glaring loopholes are staring out at me. First, why didn’t the stalker notice her tracks on the road the first time when he was driving past? Surely he would have seen them in the snow since they literally just passed each other. That didn’t make any sense to me, because the snow hadn’t fallen enough by then to obscure her tracks. Secondly, why didn’t he drive after her?

Damn, it’s intense. First time in a while that a book has had my heart pounding, feeling increasingly tense as the tormentor and the victim nearly cross paths. Sheesh! What an effective way to write thriller.
