i can see why the author did this particular thing and i'm not saying it won't be interesting in the long run, but for now she effectively turned talyn into a smurfette character which i do not like one bit

Well into this now, enjoyable read. It’s got a storyline with some mystery and good characters that carry you along, and make you want to know the next stage. Though the first 10% was a touch daunting as you were thrown quite a bunch of characters and places in a short period.
