I’m glad Emma is only three miles away from her nee family and I hope her Dad doesn’t prevent her from visiting them often.

I wanted to keep reading, but it was getting late. The chemistry between Emma and Roo is so clear in the three chapters I read today. I’m glad Emma ended up not going to Lake Prom with Blake, it was obvious she didn’t like him that much. I hope Emma is able to stay at North Lake for longer, even after her dad comes back.

Not my absolute favorite if her books so far, but Roo and Emma are cute and it’s a nice, light, summery read which I’m always down for.

I’ve enjoyed trying to figure out Emma’s extended family tree along with her.

This book is beautifully written and I can’t wait to see how it ends!

I read this in 12 hours, stopping for 4 of those hours to sleep. It was so good. I love coming of age stories set in summer. With lots of good family dynamics. There were some unanswered questions but I think that’s the point of it all. But overall a good read :)

I’m excited to see wheee it goes. Not a fan of the language in it, though.

Currently, I have big big craving for either having a big friend group or very close cousins to engage with. Besides, I love the cool surnames: Calvander and Blackwood, as well as the rivalry between North Lake and Lake North. Working class versus wealthier individuals.

Hihi, I absolutely love reading about the protagonist’s friends and family, such as cousins and aunts. I wish I had a big family, just like Emma (in this book) and Sophie in 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston (!!)

If you long for vacation, you can simply read a novel by Dessen. I also realised I've been reading her books for somewhat seven years - which is close to forever. She put the idea in my head that having a summer job at a lake is synonymous with happiness - hopefully I get my hands on a vaccine someday to test that.

This girl is acting like it's the end of the world and she'll never see her family again and like she's moving a whole 3 miles away. I can't.

I don't even know what this girl is talking about. She's literally didn't know about this place 200 pages ago.

If it wasn't for Emma/Sailor telling me a thousand times she has anxiety, I would have never known.

Emma's dad is so irritating and I don't get why Emma isn't fighting him on it. If I was in her position I would have agreed back, I might not have won but I would not go quietly 😂

Emma is growing on me. I like her fear of driving because I relate. Roo is my favourite he's so sweet. The family is so hectic and I'm still a little confused when they say names, but I think after a few more chapters I'll have it down.

The main character with 20 names just called love interest "hers" even though they met two days ago and have had maybe two conversations together? either this is super unrealistic or the reason i'm single.

Every Sarah Dessen book is the exact same story but with different names for the characters.

I can't believe 15 year old me ate that shit up.

I mean almost 22 year old me is too but that's not the point.

The plot is picking up a little but I still don't really see where it could go to get interting. I'm still super confused with the family. Also just read a chapter that had me thinking if Emma's dad is Emma's dad and not Roo's dad instead. Maybe I'm just looking for plots where there are none.

Yes, this is my fourth Sarah Dessen book this week.
