Status Updates From The Piano Shop on the Left ...

I'm just going to go ahead and buy this book for myself (reading a library copy now), because I want to highlight and write in it. Love.

The beauty of this book reminds me that I need to get my piano tuned.

This book is a joy to read.

I finished this very charming reminiscence a few weeks ago.

Chapter 20 should be required reading for teachers, especially those who give master classes. The entire book is inspiring and thought-provoking for any musician/teacher, not just the pianist.

'I'll always see that staircase differently. There'll always be a man with a piano strapped to his back teetering on the edge of eternity.'

Really fascinating so far. As a music student with an subtle interest in organology, my attention has truly been captured in a rather unique way.

This 'update' is not about this book. It's about what I'm listening to as I'm reading this book. See, there was this guy Disfarmer who was a very disagreeable man, but a great photographer. Not a book I would normally pick, but I'm happily surprised. It is all about pianos and since I have some ability to play it's interesting to read someone else's love for them.

i'm putting this on my "abandoned mid-read" shelf.. we'll see what the future brings.

I never finished this book.. but don't feel the need to... i'll keep it like this in case i get through the rest in the near future.

I love it. I know almost nothing about musical theory. But you don't need it to like this book.
