Felt like I wanted to change it up a little go for some scifi/horror. I've enjoyed other titles from the author. So far so good.

I’m enjoying the speculation I’m getting out of this. Also, the overall design of 2I is really cool.

DNF at 24%. This is the book equivalent of a low budget movie. Some crappy dialogue gave it away right away, but I kept on reading cause I was interested in seeing where the plot went. But it took a ridiculous turn at this point, so here is where I call it.

okay, structure-wise this is all over the place.
jumping around between characters and styles can be a great way to spice up the narrative but here it just doesn't help.
I'm not sure where this is supposed to go but I don't have the patience for this right now.

Oh look! It's like "Rendevous With Rama", only with less wonder, more horror, and far, far more stupidity.

Big Dumb Object, emergency mission put together from the ruins of a space program. This should be right up my alley, but its so far entirely formulaic, couched in an irritating book-within-a-book structure, and full of annoying technical problems (most obviously: if something has an IAU designation, it is not a secret). Have I become too much of a space geek to enjoy space fiction?
