'The average millionaire is only the average dishwasher in a suit.'
'The trouble is, intelligent, cultivated people, the very people who might be expected to have Liberal opinions, never do mix with the poor' - thia is just the average Exeter Uni student.
It's depressing how we have gone no further from this mindset.
Progress is slow, moving and starting work is a bit long
Orwell will always be a fun read

I really like the book. It’s my first time reading George Orwell and it’s he’s honestly great. I had no expectations and wasn’t sure what type of book it was. I’m used to fiction stories like S. King so I was surprised to see it’s a personal story of his. I like that he narrates it as if we were having a conversation 1v1. Very simple witting and easy to understand, just what I like

Live a life like homeless people is not easy even only to imagine. Orwell give us empathy for them. And for me, the way he thought that there's no different in term of 'morality' between homeless and worker is really make sense. We only differentiate them by 'how much money they make'.

The way orwell describe environment in each Spike he went, I just can't believe such a place is exist. Such a chaos. It's hard to even imagine. But at the same time gave us insight about how life can be so hard and cruel to you.

In London is even much worse for Orwell. He has to be a homeless—which did not happen while in Paris—and have no chance to get a Job. He came to the point where the world is becoming cruel when you're shrouded in poverty.

Orwell's really had miserable life in Paris. The way he tried so hard to live with 'so little money' is hard to imagine, yet amazing. Also his job activity that happened in Hotel make me can feel the slavery going on there. Next, he'll go to London.

He has a way of depicting the ugly miserable nature of Paris lower class, that makes u want to shower after an hour of reading.
His musings on Labour must have been progressive at the time, the analogies he draws are some what dated, but the fact stands: fear of the mob drives the consumerist machine to swallow us all into useless jobs.
