Status Updates From ダンジョン飯 7 [Dungeon Meshi 7]

Man, I did not expect Senshi’s story to be that tough (he’s so gentle and sweet and I love him so much) that scene after he ate the exact same soup and started crying was so good (I teared up a bit). I love how Gillin looked out for him, now he wears his helmet and act like he did (protect & feed the young) it’s so touching!
I love this party so much!

Rest In Peace Sky Fish(Marcille did great!).I can’t believe Laios decided to cook it,it’s crazy.I can’t believe Chilchuck dropped a huge bomb at the end of the chapter so casually,what do you mean he has a wife and a daughter?!WHAT?! I can’t wait to know about Senshi’s past! It’s crazy that I didn’t put two and two together(he’s been doing that for 10 years&the dungeon was only discovered 6 years ago)

I can’t wait to know what made Senshi that scared of Griffins (I’m sorry but when the griffin picked him up I laughed, it’s something that would totally happen in Dragon’s Dogma 2 (I’m currently playing it)).

I love learning bits and pieces about the dungeon’s lore. So the lunatic magician (Sissel) turned out to be a he/him was first brought into court as a jester and raised alongside Delgal as brothers, then it was Delgal who encouraged him to learn magic and turned out he had a knack for it and went on to study black magic and consequently cast the spell of immortality on the dungeon/castle, interesting!

I liked Senshi’s role in all of this, he’s very perceptive. (I also like him very much overall). Izutsumi’s attachment to Marcille (in this country) is cute! She’s acting like a kitten (which is adorable) I can’t wait to continue reading this, I love it!

The party’s reaction to the prophecy was hilarious! From Marcille’s “you have the wrong person” to Chilchuck’s “he just picked up that sword by accident”. I don’t mind the chosen one trope (I even like it if done right). I love that Laios didn’t accept nor refuse Yaad’s request to defeat the lunatic magician and free them (it makes him human). Though I think he’ll eventually accept it.

Not only that but there’s more “the bearer of the winged sword will defeat the lunatic magician and become the new king of this land.”I wonder if the golden country will continue on as before if the lunatic magician was defeated or it’d transform into something different. Yaad’s hand were cold(I think this detail is a very important one)I wonder if they are dead &this place is keeping them alive temporarily

And then there’s the prophecy; “one shall come who bears a winged sword. They will defeat the lunatic magician and liberate us.” And apparently that’s Laios. Kensuke changed its shape (which is weird) and now it has the winged lion (the golden country’s tutelary deity, also held captive at the bottom of the dungeon by the lunatic magician. It prophesies the future through dreams which is cool!)

“My grandfather spent ages agonizing over the fact that he had turned the lunatic magician’s focus to black magic.” I wonder how he did that and why? This is very interesting. I wonder how he’d managed to go above ground and turn to dust since many have tried to escape the spell by leaving the village and none have succeeded, they just lost their physical bodies and became wandering (evil) ghosts!

I love this, this is great! “The Golden Country” is such an interesting place. The inhabitants’ sense of tatste has filled and they also don’t feel hunger, both a direct result of the spell of immortality that the lunatic magician has cast on them. Plus Izutsumi is acting strangely (I think it too, has something to do with the place. So Yaad is Delgal’s grandson (I thought Delgal was the last of his line).

It’s hilarious to cut to Laios’s group and their contemplating Marcille’s comparison while eating poached eggs and Laois just casually pretending not to see the ghost that has been following him (and his group) for god knows how long. I can’t wait to see what happens next! (The western elves design are great!) and what happened in Kabru’s hometown (Utaya) was a tragedy.

That was a very interesting chapter (the western elves have finally made an appearance) I’m interested to see what their objectives are (their leader is very sharp she got Kabru figured out in less than 5 minutes) I can’t wait to see how their expedition with kabru go (it’s interesting that he grew up with the elves it explains the way way he goes about doing thing to a certain degree)

Izutsumi looks so cute in Namari’s clothes, she’s adorable.
P.S. I’ve never heard of Barometz (A.K.A. Vegetable Lamb of Tartary). It’s such a cool (yet creepy) monster.

I love this so much! Izutsumi is such a great addition to the team. I enjoyed her little detour with Marcille (I really love how patient Marcille was with her). It also seems like she had/has a great relationship with Tade (she’s an ogre right?) I liked that flashback. I just love how everyone in the party (except Chilchuck) treat her like a cat and then get their face scratched (again, except Chilchuck).

I love Izutsumi! She’s so cute. I love this manga so much! I honestly don’t know what I’m gonna do after I finish it.

i think that i’ll delete all but volume 1 and 14 so it won’t clutter my reading challenge (aka this feels like cheating) lmao
