Magical memory machine plot device to the rescue! But make sure the main character inexplicably leaves while there's still 2 hrs unaccounted for or else we'll miss out on another 100 pages of now-pointless suspense.

Somebody please hire an editor for this thing. The author's inability to use proper paragraphing for back-and-forth conversations is pissing me off. Also the needless use of the exact same sentence in less than a page.
